Quali varietà d’italiano insegnare all’IA? Sviluppo di un modello linguistico per un’intelligenza artificiale Human Centred (HCAI)

The article presents the HCAI4GEND project and its open-source AI-based tool for detecting and generating gender-sensitive language in institutional texts in Italian, English and German. The model supports supervised learning through sociopragmatic metadata and semi-automatically built linguistic datasets, combining manual annotation and natural language processing techniques.
Gender-inclusive language in university communication: a contrastive analysis of gender-inclusive guidelines in German, Italian, and English

The article provides a comparative analysis of gender-inclusive language guidelines issued by universities in Germany, Austria, Switzerland, Italy and the United Kingdom. Based on a corpus of 287 institutional guidelines, the study examines the linguistic strategies recommended to promote gender-inclusive communication.
Enhancing University Communication: An Artificial Intelligence-Based Tool for Gender-Inclusive Language

The article presents the project’s research activities, with particular attention to the development of a linguistic model for an AI-based tool capable of detecting, interpreting and generating gender-sensitive language solutions in institutional texts in Italian, English and German.

The article highlights the need for a multidisciplinary and collaborative approach involving linguists, sociologists, software developers and policy makers, so that AI-based language technologies are technically robust, culturally sensitive and ethically grounded. It also stresses the importance of involving end users in the design and implementation of inclusive AI systems.

HCAI4Gend - Multilingual Corpus for gender-sensitive institutional communication
A collection of multilingual resources developed to support the analysis and production of gender-sensitive institutional communication in Italian, German, and English. It includes: raw corpora of authentic institutional texts; manually annotated corpora; parallel gender-sensitive rewritings implementing feminine-visibility and gender-neutralization strategies; structured document metadata; annotation and rewriting guidelines; and a multilingual lexicon of institutional and professional role names with gender-sensitive forms and alternatives.
